Here are the final standings for the predictions league, with points for the final and the pre-tournament predictions added. Thanks to everyone who took part and congratulations to the winners.

Thanks again to Steve as well for generously putting forward the prize credits. I’ll drop him a note re. adding the credits to the winners’ teams but obviously given the news he has shared he has much more important things to think about, so I’m sure he will get round to that when he can.

In terms of the Final, there were joint leaders for points picked up, with Beesley, Colin and Nathan picking up 7 each.

Quite a few of you called Spain’s win, but it was only Richard who got the 2-1 scoreline bang on, while Nathan and El Diablo also picked up a point for calling Nico Williams as the first goalscorer.

In the random categories, there were plenty of points picked up for those of you who plumped for a half-time substitution, which Spain were forced into with Rodri’s injury. Spain completely dominated the ball with 65% possession - nobody had gone that high so Beesley’s closest guess of 58% bagged him a point. Colin got himself two points for calling the 16 fouls in the game correctly, and plenty of you were only 1% out on Spain’s pass completion of 91%. Impressively, three of you also picked up two points for coming within 20 of Spain’s total passes for the game which stood at 496 - Beesley was just 5 out with his guess of 501. England’s passes completed were harder to call, finishing with a relatively low 246 - Richard was the only one to pick up a point there with his guess of 214.

Washwell picked up the most points in the pre-tournament predictions with 16, correctly calling England as runners-up, Kane as (joint) top scorer, 6 red cards in the tournament and four out of six group winners. Next closest were aburton0122, Dave Brothers and Garyc who all picked up 12 from their predictions - Gary being the only person to pick out Spain as winners in advance of the tournament. The number of goals for the tournament was lower than anyone had expected with 117, while the opposite was true of yellow cards with more awarded than anyone had predicted at 240. Everyone picked up between 2-4 points for the Group Winners, with Groups D and E proving the surprises with nobody having picked out either Austria or Romania to win their groups.
