Solihull or Blackpool away. I fancy our chances with either.

Ocean Blues League 1 - Club 548 - Season 8, div 3 champions.
Season 9, div 2 champions.
Winchester League 1 - Club 522 - Season 9, cup finalists.
Twyford League 2 - Club 634 - Season 8, Premier League Champions.

Imfollowed worthing through the qualifying
1st qualifying round Faversham 1-3 worthing
2ns qualifying round Moneyfields( Portsmouth) 2-3 worthing
3rd qualifying round Chelmsford 1-2 Worthing
4th qualifying round Ebbsfleet 4 -0 Worthing

Ps we’ve been drawn away in our last 9 Fa cup matches

This really is the glory of the FA Cup, non league teams starting it off in August/ September, I expect some of you don’t even realise the fa cup starts then, when you win a game you’re then waiting the following Monday to see who you get, then round 1 proper the BBC get involved, they belittle all the non league teams
By Round 3 the fa cup has lost all of its magic, all the big teams aren’t really that bothered and put their reserves out because the Premier League is far more important than anything else (too much money)
Teams like Brighton, Palace, Southampton, Bournemouth etc are gonna win jack shit this season so should really give it a go but their fans are happy to stay in the premier league and sod the fa cup
I’m sure some of the non league guys on here no what I’m talking about
Funnily enough we beat haringey at their ground with 236 supporters there, 100 from worthing, haringey average 150, for the fa
cup they got 2500,there was even a dog with a haringey scarf on who’s probably never seen a lead either!

I think, like most things in life, Gaz, people tend not to take notice of things that do not concern them.

I, for one, know the FA Cup starts earlier than the first weekend in January but don't really look at results before December.

When I lived on the Isle of Wight I'd look out for the results of local teams that were in the cup like Cowes and Newport and more recently, Eastleigh.

I agree the cup has lost its appeal. As a kid I loved final day. Watching on the BBC from about 9 in the morning, no matter who was in the final and always wanting to be there.

Got my wish eventually in the '93 final replay when we beat Wednesday in the last minute of extra time. Got to sing Abide With Me too.

The draw now being on a Monday is crap too. I remember those Saturdays at a train station, after watching Arsenal play in the 80s, with a radio stuck to my ear listening to the draw and relaying it to whoever was huddled round wanting to know who we got.

So yes, the FA Cup is way down the pecking order now but it does hold fond memories for some.

Ocean Blues League 1 - Club 548 - Season 8, div 3 champions.
Season 9, div 2 champions.
Winchester League 1 - Club 522 - Season 9, cup finalists.
Twyford League 2 - Club 634 - Season 8, Premier League Champions.

The Fa cup is great for non league teams though
For our team to get as far as it did on the back of another 4 away ties was great, and we banked around £40,000 in prize money which went towards our floodlights being upgraded as they were knackered

I agree, it is. But as you've just mentioned there the majority of teams equate success to how much money they bank from the games.

Ocean Blues League 1 - Club 548 - Season 8, div 3 champions.
Season 9, div 2 champions.
Winchester League 1 - Club 522 - Season 9, cup finalists.
Twyford League 2 - Club 634 - Season 8, Premier League Champions.

Many years ago, I actually played in the FA Cup. It was in the pre-pre-pre prelimary pre qualifiers. My team played in the 13th tier of the pyramid. We got beat.

Thrust 519 - league 1.

Static Wanderers 585 - league 2.

Earthlings 1259 - league 3.

1st Round Draw always used to be on a Saturday around 5 used to be great if you had just won your 4th Qualifying round game minutes earlier with everyone buzzing and all together and rushing into the bar trying to see the tv.
