I was wondering would it be possible to add a little feature to the game.
The idea is kind of borrowed from Soccer Supremos.
What if you had an offer of Sponsorship every few turns.
It would look something like this:

No Sponsor Amount Length Deal Condition
1. Pepsi 300,000 6 weeks Straight Cash None
2. Reebok 1,000,000 8 weeks Goals Score 7 in 8 games
3. Nike 2,000,000 7 weeks Success Win 5 of 7
4. Samsung 1,500,000 6 weeks Position Top 4 after 6 games

Hope this types out ok!
It would add another little aspect to your hopes and targets each week.
Just a thought

I think it'll be limited by the software but great idea.

Do we not already have this feature in the game?

If you have a PROmotions officer, then depending how you utilise him/her, the PRO can earn sponsorship payments every few weeks.

We also have CLUB NEWS which on occasion is about sponsorship offers.

We also have lump sum sponsorship payments at the start of the season depending on final position in the previous season.

I personally believe that we do not need a 4th method of getting sponsorship money.

Thrust 519 - league 1.

Static Wanderers 585 - league 2.

Earthlings 1259 - league 3.

I think after the bumper payments at the start of this season there's a bit 'too' much money sloshing about it's hard to get a look in. All my clubs have at least £50m in the bank but I'm not sure I'll get chance to spend it (I've tried!) Usually you'd have clubs running out of money just before the second sponsorship money comes in and the market would favour those who wait but I'm not sure it'll happen this time round.

P.S. If anybody has any 33+ rat emergency loans available in League One Alpha Wild are interested!

Good idea though Darren! If it could be incorporated into what the Promotions Officer does already that could work? If you sent him off to look for sponsorship he could return with three options that you'd pick from (rather than just say the outcome was good and he returned with £200k)

League One
Alpha Wild [524]: S7 D1 4th | S8 D1 6th
Parkwood United [546]: S7 D3 1st | S8 D2 2nd
Kings of Leon Osman [528]: S8 D3 9th |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
League Two
Langton Gardens [639]: S7 D1 1st | S8 PL ?
Lools FC [592]: S7 D3 1st | S8 D2 ?
Bayer Neverlusen [637]: S8 D3 ? |

I totally agree, there's too much cash around. The problem is that the auction prices are crazy and unlimited and the direct sale prices are limited.

That might be more to do with the total amount of cash around though. We get much more cash from gate receipts, maybe that should be more limited.

In many ways I agree Tom and Cris, but in relation to gate receipts - just keep in mind that the established teams are earning very good revenue from gate receipts but you must remember a new manager will generally speaking loose money on wages/gate receipts for about a season.
Cork City - 12 months on are now breaking even! Wangding are nearly there.
I think the game is just about right as we don't want to put off new managers 4 months into a project.
It could be argued that these new managers like me simply need to be more prudent with our wages but hey its only a game and everyone likes to have a reasonable share of wins Lol!! (I always try to keep my wages in check)

I think Richard is right in the valid points he makes about the sponsorship suggestion.
The game has enough remuneration avenues as it is but I do like the detail of the Soccer Supremos Sponsorship model.
The software may not allow changes in any case.

Anyway, best of luck to everyone in this weeks game. (P.S Hope you get your team Phil!)

Yes you're right, it would need a software change.

The amount of money sloshing around in the game is quite closely monitored and I can make adjustments to make sure it's about right with various tools such as Russian external bids for players.

I understand Tom D saying there is too much money and he can't spend it but I see the whole picture and I can tell you there are quite a few clubs now who are struggling or who have no spare cash. We have had some long term unmanaged clubs with oodles of cash taken over in the past few months which has probably inflated auction prices but I predict that will calm down somewhat now.

You can of course spend the money if you want to as there is no limit on auction bids so that isn't a game fault as it's you the managers that decide how much these players are sold for.

It must be difficult to balance the inflation, and the bottom line is that managers have to deal with the conditions they come across. If you don't like auction prices, don't pay them and don't get the players. Even ore difficult to balance things without being unfair to a division, new managers, older managers, etc etc.

That was my motto for a while, But a lack of good 35+ players for sale for cash forced my hand in league 1. Have now spent over 70+m on two 36 Def's to try and boost ratings to keep myself up! of course having got them there is still no guarantee we will stay up. But we now have a solid base of players under 30 with the GK being the exception. We have also started to plug the cash flow leak we have had recently and will soon be at least breaking even..

Yeah I can completely see where you're coming from - I'm not saying it was a bad idea to inject cash into the game like that, far from it. But things will surely return to normal at the end of this season? There have been some absolutely mental bids going around, and so there SHOULD be teams broke right now... the only problem is in a couple of turns everyone is going to get another £25m. It's encouraging crazy bids because the usual 'silly season' of bids in the first 3-5 weeks of a season has now become the first 15 weeks... with sponsorship to come a week later to start it all over again....

I don't really think the wages point is a starter... I've had four of my clubs just over a season and only ONE breaks even. Your clubs will make a loss for a long time if you take a team in Division 2 or 3, all the more reason NOT to go and spend £60m on 4 players.

Just my two pennies worth anyway, I think any impression I get from my end will be different from the reality that Steve can see with a birdseye view of the game.
