The deadline for League 3 passed 10 hours ago. I still haven't received my turn.
This has happened in all the leagues so often lately. I have fallen foul of picking a team blind and having an injured player get worse. I miss out on transfer activity. Managing my youngsters appearances for end of season boosts becomes almost impossible.
I've paid for the whole season but unless the post service improves, it may be my last after quarter of a century of really enjoying playing Summit PBM.

you can always ask your opposition if anyone went off injured in future ( if playing a regular on here) My post has been pretty good lately no such problem, I think everywhere is different, I too enjoy the actually letter in the post and won't switch to emails

My post is dreadful which is why I have my turns emailed, I really did like getting it posted but I’m still getting hospital appointments dated in October arriving on the door mat a month late

I think you’ve been in summit longer than me Richard as I started in August 96 in lg 9 and one of my first games was v ultra international which was your team?

If you open a support ticket I can check and see if any players are unavailable, that will allow you to pick a team and send it in. You will know if any contracts are due for renewal from the previous turn and the auction list is available on PCs site if you want to make any bids.
Not ideal I know but a decent workaround until hopefully the post in your area improves

That's crap, and I totally get how much it would disrupt things.
Get it sent by email. At least you know you'll definitely get it. Surely that's got to be better than leaving your club?

I get it Richard, Royal Mail has gotten worse and worse (no offense intended PC but that's the bottom line). That said, I'm inclined to agree to with Fincer because otherwise the implication is that the envelope is better than the contents... Actually, with the Lytham Seasiders, if I got it sent by post, the envelope would certainly be better than the contents

It's sad to see the Royal Mail going this way.
There is definitely something to be said about actually receiving a physical copy of your turn... It's a visceral feeling, much like how it feels better to have a hard copy of your fav piece of music.. it feels personal.
I hope those that are having problems are able to continue. This seems like a great little game that's been running for such a long time.

I'm not going to try and defend the PO. I do remember playing postal games from school with pen pals. I had a couple, one in Germany and another in France. I did enjoy sending the letters and receiving them. Both of them really enjoyed Chess. I'm sure I managed to get a couple of games from each of them before the interest waned. Later on, I played another football manager game (maybe it was this one, I can't say) and Diplomacy as well. Again a couple of games before the interest waned.
So to now. This game is both reminiscent as well as great to play. I've had to move with the times however. Yes, getting the letters was absolutely fantastic, but it's no longer reliable. I really do want to say those times will be back.

As a note, the Post Office doesn't have anything to do with Royal Mail anymore after both parties went their separate ways. As with RM itself, it is purely down to them not recruiting when people have left plus not investing in new fleet or repairing fleet properly.
They saw, during Covid, the potential of profit from packets but due to their short-sightedness and greed for profit, recruitment was put on hold. Now they can't get anyone to work for them and that has had a knock-on effect to today's situation. There isn't anything the Posties or the floor managers can do about it as it's not in their hands.

I was interested in doing a letter delivery between 930 and 230 and no one knows, indeed.com was trying to offer me a job 60 miles away!
