For me it’s just the lack of information that’s driving me up the wall, I’ve been in summit long enough to get over things like lack of information but I’m reasonably impatient lol

Well the main method of conveying info about turnarounds was the traffic light system. I can't come on here and create a new thread every time there is something to say about processing.

But managers on here constantly complained that they didn't get their turn the next day just because 'inputting turns' had turned amber which I did try and explain in a separate post somwhere. In the end the system was seemingly just causing more disquiet than was worth it. Nobody and I mean nobody had a good word to say about it at the time.

I send out 2 turns a week. I've sent out 2 turns a week every week for ages and the only exceptions are things like: catching COVID, Easter Holidays, laptop in the repair shop, waving flags at the Queen etc. In other words there is never a week that I sit and think 'I can't be arsed to do any Summit this week' that doesn't happen.

Regarding Mon/Thurs deadlines, the Mon has been going out on the Thurs and the Thurs on the Mon. Seems a bit silly so I changed to Tues / Fri with the same send out days

Maybe one thread that you could just write a sentence in that would take 2 minutes of your time if things are delayed as soon as you know so managers know what to expect? I don't think that is asking much! I have mentioned before that I don't mind and am not complaining about delays but I hate communication breakout and feel it is unnecessary, that's my main jib.

That's news to me regarding the new 'going out' days changing to Tue/Fr again! I believe the last news on this was that you were on a Mon/Thu pattern to avoid weekend delays. I think this whole conversation would have been avoided if you had mentioned that to us on here Steve unless you have somewhere and I have missed it? If I have then my apologies.

At least we know now..........thumbsup

I don't understand why you can't post everytime we have a delay or to tell us when you are doing a turn etc, personally don't see the issue, most managers except the problems and any delay just want updating PC uses his thread and posts every time he updates his site for example

Darren O said
I have very recently taken a team in another PBM (not out of a desire for something new but due to downtime between turns here). The other PBM just for the record processes and sends a turn like clock work every Thursday at Mid day. I received the turn yesterday at a couple of minutes past 12.00.

Obviously if you want to receive a turn back within a couple of minutes of the deadline then this sort of completely automated thing is the way to go if that is your priority. Not sure it's PBM but that's another discussion.

For me yes obviously there are certain parts of the game that have to be subject to algorithms and computer geeky stuff. But there are areas where human intervention is essential to give the game life. It's that that I hope makes a difference.

I've no doubt people will enjoy these computer generated games and I hope they do enjoy receiving their printouts but I think they will find it's just a bit soulless and will get bored.

I bet you will also find there is not much difference in points between a team at the bottom of the League and a team at the top just so the computer can keep you paying the turnfee!

They process Thursday morning I believe and begin emailing (possibly automatically at 12.00 or so I believe). They are very different games in many ways. Both have some very good aspects to the game play. I can't comment on the difference between top and bottom as I don't know. The software does seem responsive to small details.
I'm currently trying to figure out each players best position. They are generically categorised as DEF Mid Att but each player has different attributes.
For example my best defender is best at Left Back. A Albiston is left footed. His best stats are in Speed, Stamina, Aggression and Tackling. When I add up those 4 attributes he's a rate 35 Left back. Should I change formation and use him as a wing back his attributes for Movement, Passing, Speed and Stamina make him a 34 in that position. Its the same throughout the outfield positions.

In summary both are great games in their own right. As I'm only involved in L3 then playing one match every 10 or 12 or 14 days can be a bit long. That's the only reason I said I'd try it.
