Steve, is there anyway that when a player reaches 31years old and over they can be sold for less the current minimum
At the moment there are a lot of clubs that would buy older players abut buying for the current min from other managers isn't cheap enough
I.e I have a 34.8rat gk which if I tran 5 him I receive 4.2m yet the min I can currently sell him for is 6.8m yet I'm sure if I offered him for 5.5m I'd have lots of offers
Not sure if anyone else has any opinions but I think it's a good way of keeping older players in the game but also makes them more value able and does keep clogging up the auction list. It can also help as a short term fix to clubs looking for a short term rats boost who are either contending or trying to stave off relegation fears

Yes I agree in some part seeing as age 31 players start getting ratings drop if you have older players 33 and over I'm afraid it's case of trying to sell them for min which is hard and if not its tran2 and then someone will buy him for half the price from auction list that's just way it is at the moment.

Personally I think it's fine how it is. They're the only players I can currently buy at auction since the increased sponsorship money meant the silly season hasn't finished yet, and won't finish now that everybody is about to receive another 25m. There was no advantage gained this season by not taking part in silly bids.

Can't say that I feel we need to change the current situation, I think it's more of an issue that the market value for a high rated young player at auction can be double their value so much more than they could sell for directly. Not sure what I'd do about it.
I don't have an issue with oldies going for less than 80% value but don't feel it would change much.

I think on another thread there was a suggestion that there was too much money sloshing around in the game and in this one you want to be able to sell players cheaper which makes me think the balance is about right
You have to try and take a more long term view for Leagues 1 and 2 which have some very high rated players in them, some of them already at their max potential rating. If we are not careful then in a few seasons time most players will be at their max and managing won't be a lot of fun with a team full of players that can't improve.
This is why players aged 31+ have a potential rating drop each season and there are very few highly rated young players being put into the game meaning that you have to develop them yourselves. This way we should be able to keep the Leagues going instead of wrapping them up and starting again which I don't think anyone wants.
If you want something different League 3 will be kicking off in the summer
