..... you will normally get your turn before the managers who get theirs by post.
Please don't post about results, transfer deals or indeed please don't post at all until the following day so that other managers can receive their turns. I will just have to delay emailing out the turns until the next day otherwise.
I had a Manager quit citing the reason being that transfer deals were tied up before he even got his turn which he preferred to get by post. I can't stop you PMing each other and I can't see PMs but please bear in mind that there are managers out there that may have better deals if you just wait for them to get their turn... there is always at least a week between turns so really no panic.
Thanks.... Steve

I don’t think anyone puts deals on here when they get their emails. Hasn’t happened for a long time
The same applies to receiving by post as sometimes I don’t get my emailed turn til the following afternoon, swings and roundabouts as they say

I did see something posted last night about deals failing. Whilst this was probably about a deal already arranged Steve did mention not say anything about deals or indeed anything.
I think as it's traditionally a play by mail game the timing of snail mail is what we should all go by. Obviously not everyone gets their post at the same time or indeed on the same day but once it's in the box that's out of Steve's control.
As I said above, emails could be scheduled to be sent at a certain time. And very loosely based on post being delivered around the middle of the day this could be an arbitrary time of midday the day after posting.
That's my 2 penn'orth anyway.

I wouldn't have any issue with timing it for Midday on the following day after posting. My knowledge of IT in general is appalling! Is this easy to do?

What is the difference to people who work from home doing deals when anyone at work doesn't get results until they get home.
If I ever sell a player I would wait 24 hours until I tie up the deal, gives everyone the chance to offer.
I hardly bother looking now as unless you can live on the forum 24/7, deals get done within minutes.
Biggest issue with the game for me

In the ideal world the turn would be processed on a Thursday instead of Friday as the postal issue is a problem for many.
Not sure about needing to live on the forum 24/7. It's obvious to all that you need to be active for a short period on the forum when the turn is processed. Some go a step further and use their own initiative to send a message to managers who have had a good week at auction and enquire about possible surplus players. When the market is hot the proactive managers will secure players first. I fully agree that its a problem if you don't get your turn on a Saturday.
I put a rate 27 older player up for sale and it took 24 hours approx to sell.

I am with you. You will see most managers deal with a handful of managers directly, so the deals are not publicised until the following week in the transfers page of the turn.

Yes that does happen. It's for two reasons in my opinion.
Some managers take the time to do a small bit of networking. A quick message to see if any decent players are available this week. There's no substitute for someone who is switched on. I'm a bit lazy also. If I receive a message from someone offering top dollar for surplus players it's an easy option to just say, sure why not.
Some managers have a proven track record of checking details and seeing if they can foresee any potential problems with a transfer. They check wages etc and more often than not put the deal down on their turn submission. If one of these managers sends you an enquiry it's just so easy to say Yes.
I totally understand lots of people are busy and don't have time to do the grafting. That's understandable.
That's my take on it.
I've no doubt others will have different opinions. It's very important that people receive their turns on time so that's why Thursday processing is better in the ideal world.

I'm with Darren, I also want to do my turn quickly before the next league comes so its good to deal with managers that reply swiftly and can be trusted. I check the forum couple times a day on my phone its quite easy, miss some players get others just the way it is

Feels very much like a clique though.
You look at the number of deals that go through each week, way more than those on auction or listed on here.
A few managers have been really welcoming and helpful both with advice and in selling players, but it really does feel difficult to improve your squad with auction prices so high and deals done quickly or by pm

It's like most things in life. What you get out of the game is what you put in to it.
Some like to play the game at a nice slow steady pace and login in every so often to do a few deals .
Some are switched on and really motivated and are willing to go the extra mile.
There's no right or wrong way to play. Some are more addicted than others
I know of a few new managers that are really proactive and ask lots of questions and enquire about availability frequently.
Maybe it's a good old fashioned case of:
