I had a few Summit problems today but nothing a bit of inventiveness and some Blu-tac couldn't resolve. It meant it took me a lot longer than anticipated but all seems to be good now.

League 1 Week 19 is printing now but won't be finished before the last post so will go out tomorrow and the email turns will be sent some time during the day.

It's been a long one but relieved to have got there in the end

As someone who has been playing Summit since 1996, with a couple of short breaks, if the game becomes email only, which to me is the antithesis of PBM I very much doubt i would continue to play. Surely it should be up to each player to decide what they prefer.

I agree. There will always be a postal option. I am having to up the turnfee for postal turns to keep pace with stamp price increases though which is a bit unfortunate but there will always be that choice.

I know you said in your message above your wife said about giving it up which adds to the view that the game could end shortly. My Mrs always gets her way. 

If the game isn't moved to a new computer will that be an issue also.

With it being email only you can have shorter deadlines as you don't have to post and wait for people to receive post. I get post once a week currently from RM. I could be sent an email on a Monday and easily submit to a Wednesday deadline for example. You couldn't with a postal option.

The Mrs was just getting upset that I was getting so frustrated but it's sorted now. I get your other points... no I don't know what I will be doing in 5 years time and I get what you mean now by not having to wait for Royal Mail to deliver so email only could be faster but it isn't a route I'm planning on.

The only issue the Summit PC could have that would affect the game is hard drive failure. It's already had bits replaced here and there down the years and the hard drive has been mirrored onto an external drive so the Summit game could be restored from that if needed.
