If a player does not want a new contract and you can't sell him to another team, do you have to TRAN2 him before his contract gets to 0 weeks or can you just let it run down and you'll get 50% value at 0 weeks anyway?
Have a player with 2 weeks left and just wondering if I need to TRAN2 him next turn or if I can just leave it to run down completely?

From what I understand, you can actually let the contract run down to -2 and he will leave on -3 for 50% value Alan.

You get 50% if you let them rundown their contract the only time you get less is in staff retirements
If he’s in -2 I wouldn’t bother sacking him and use your tran spot for a better use
also you can tran 2 a player at anytime through the season.

Anyone know if you can offer any length of contract you like eg 4 weeks? I think 12 weeks is the lowest I've offered. Just wondering if there is a minimum. Thanks

Really not sure on that one bud, can’t remember reading it anywhere in the rule book.
Usually just give them what they want. Be interesting to find out what the minimum is for future reference.

Thanks Carlos. I know 33 weeks is the max. It would be handy to dish out a few very short term contracts to have a few players in position to give them a fresh contract early next season.
