After 25 + years playing Summit I'm at a point I don't know whether to continue.
I'm documented my issues with the postal services in the past. Those issues meant that in order my my youngsters to get enough games for boosts, I've had to play a few weakened line ups lately.
My post problems meant that I didn't receive my league 3 until after the deadline to return the turn. However I thought i'd caught a break when there were issues at Summit and the traffic lights showed that inputting hadn't started. I entered my sheets for the penultimate game and waited for my turn to arrive. On the front page was the dreaded message, your turn was not received in time.
So now there are five players that can not reach the maximum number of games for a full boost. It feels like a wasted season. The credit in my account does not quite cover the cost of a turn. I will be spending the weekend deciding whether to add some credit or walk away into the sunset.

I get the popularity with the envelope dropping through the door.
It's the authentic way, of course.
If your postal system is that bad then you need to decide if the downside to email is really so bad that ,it's a red line.
Up to the individual of course.
I quite like email myself for a variety of reasons. You can always print off the turn if you like (at least a couple of the important pages).
Postal system isn't going to change.

Hopefully you'll stay. The postal service is shocking now and not going to improve.
Prices are increasing, standards are declining.
I sent a small parcel tracked 48 and it took 9 days to get there.
At least there is an alternative to the problem, albeit it does take away the thrill of the envelope drop.
It's not going to change your season but at least you're pretty much guaranteed a turn on time from here on in.
I suspect it's how the game will go in the not too distant anyway.

Stay.
The envelope method is a great part of it, but I imagine you won't miss it as much as you thought if you switch to email.
If you think about the various things you enjoy about SSL, all the challenges and game aspects, the post is just one of them.

Just to say that you can still submit a turn even if you haven't received the last one.
Any unavailable players that you pick will be replaced and you can get the auction details from PC's site. Perhaps not ideal but at least the players you want to play will be selected which solves the youngster problem.
If your turn shows up before the traffic light turns green you can just submit a new turn if you like and note at the bottom to ignore the previous submission.
Or of course as already suggested there is the email option but just to comment on Grahams post... I promised there will always be a postal option and there always will be... I cannot however absorb more stamp price increases so the turnfee for postal turns will have to keep pace with whatever rise they slap on next.

Agree with Steve you can always send the turn in before you get it, ask on forum for any auction, deal, injury details I'm sure someone will send them on to you

You could always get it emailed, print it off, put it in an envelope and stick it through your door, problem solved 🙂

You could also wait a few days and drop it in a puddle before posting it to the wrong house next door to recreate the postal experience in full.

I went email a while ago, mainly to pacify my wife who was getting fed up with the endless paper knocking around the house. I print mine off when it gets here (minus a couple of pages I don't need) and fill in the turn on paper before sending it back. But then as it's on my email I have no qualms about throwing the paper away....
