My home following has taken a second successive hit.
Silversprings went from 80+k to 76k and now down to 58k.
Cork have went from 70k to 49k and now down to 33k.
Both teams won this week. Is this a mistake? How many others have been affected.
It looks like other managers may have been hit too, when you look at the attendances this week.
Blue Anchor looks well down.
I'm as confused as a hungry baby in a topless bar

Someone has just pointed out to me the scale of it:
If I lost 15k in following that’s like 630k per hone game x that amount by 13. It's like 7m loss of revenue.

I just noticed at the top of the turn Steve said: Recommended admissions prices have been changed. This may or may not effect your home following up or down depending on how far your charges are away from the recommended ones.

There was me thinking I'm a clever fella, putting up the admission prices each time my following hit about 90k.
Hindsight is a great thing. If having too big a stadium compared to your home following is much of a handicap, poor old Cork are in trouble. Despite having high rates, I can't seem to come up with good results as it is!

I think Steve has got it wrong with this one. Managers who have raised prices in the past have now been punished twice with reductions in their following. The first time was when the price was raised manually by a £1 each time and now a second time because they happen to be over the new recommended amount.
My opinion is that if these automatic increases were applied that no fall in following should occur because we were never made aware that this would happen. If I would have known I would suffer a fall in following (again) due to being a few quid over, I would have decreased seating prices over the past few turns. I also find it very odd that this has happened on week 3 rather than week 1.

I agree with what Michael has just said.
It's a double punishment.
I get the point in trying to handicap the established sides so new teams can catch up, but I'm not so sure on this one!
Cork having a home following of 33k is way too harsh.
Exactly what Michael has just said.

I was doing that in league 2 at one point as I had well over 100k fans but as soon as it hit about £55 a ticket, half of them left. It's fair enough if you think about it in real life terms as why would people be happy to keep paying more and more for the same thing. This new thing is out of order though in my opinion. I haven't even checked mine yet to see if it's affected my teams....

Ah your probably right Tom. I'd charge £100 a ticket if I got away with it
There has to be some checks and balances to keep a flow to the game. I just felt 2 decreases in a couple of weeks was a killer.
Cork have went from 70k to 49k and now down to 33k. I'll have to build again and just put up with the Tumbleweed swirling around my vast cauldron of a stadium!

Perhaps a better way of dealing with ticket prices is to default everyone's ticket price to the recommended figure on week 1 each season, rather than letting the additional sum stand cumulatively. I.e if the Default fee is £30 then Cork's ticket price automatically gets reset to £30 on week 1, instead of it being £30 plus the additional £3 that gets carried over. Just a thought. Might not be a very well thought out idea by me, but there you go.

No - this is a much better idea than amending prices without notice and then penalising clubs who may have raised prices by a pound or two many seasons ago.

Yes I thought this would create some discussion.
It seems that the big clubs in League 3 want to break away and form a Summit Super League.
I decided that match day income needed to be increased in League 3. Yes okay should have been done on Week 1 but I wasn't organised enough so Week 3 where everyone has played 1 home and 1 away game is the next best.
That meant that some clubs who are charging more than the recommended admission price get hit. The more away from that charge the more the hit. The vast majority of clubs are unaffected and any charging under the recommended will have got a boost.
I think you Super League clubs don't need to worry, you have a big increase in admission price for seating and you will soon build that following back up again.
My advice... and it has always been the same is not to play with admission prices. It's even in the rulebook and I quote:
Raising prices will mean a reduction in the number of people who want to come to your
matches (Home Following) whilst reducing them will have the opposite
effect. It is not recommended that you stray too far from the default prices as if you increase prices above a level that your fans find acceptable they will boycott your games and may take a LONG time for them to forgive and come back.
Yes I know that it's two reductions that is the issue but the fact is if you are charging a significant amount more than you are supposed to then you are open to this kind of thing happening.
Home following can be fickle just as in real life. If you have a huge home following then just be confident you will fill your Stadium every match and don't think you can just charge more without any consequences. Premier League clubs in real life have thousands of supporters waiting for a Season Ticket, that doesn't mean they increase the prices until that numnber is reduced to zero. A big home following is something a club should be proud of not exploited.

I can see both sides of the coin. I didn't see a future for me in L1 and L2 so I pulled away as I couldn't get interested in it. It would probably be hypocritical of me to argue too much here. I wouldn't like managers in L3 to feel that way. There's no doubting the huge advantage a manager has by starting in Season 1. If League 3 thrives then it's the right call.
To be fair Summit is a top notch addictive game. Let's keep it that way. No arguments from me but I feel it was worth mentioning it initially.

Thanks Darren... I have to look at the big picture all the time.
There are parmetars in the software that I don't have control over ie over the reccomended admission price (rac) and there is a reduction between x and y in home following but I think the difference between x and y is quite large ie between 0 and several 000. Similarly for a reduction in price. What I can do is set clubs charging whatever the rac is to zero which means there will be no change from one season to the next. So only clubs who are deviating from the the rac will be affected either up or down.
That seems about right to me but I do get your points and others on this thread. The game keeps evolving even after all this time as I get this sort of feedback.
I've learnt the lesson and League 1 Week 1 which went out today already included some admission changes in the Home following
Cheers... Steve

this is just another punishment to teams that manage their clubs very well.
the answer I would like then is how many fans do you lose per £1 over the ticket prices as all the managers I have spoken to managers who have been punished totally different % even though clubs were charging the same its just another made rule as we go along its another in a long line of interference in the game to punish managers who do a good job so what's the point I may as well spend 20m on a shit player at auction manage my team badly and get rewarded if it's now a case of you interfering with the game to make it fair there is no point in actually playing it if at every turn you get handicapped if you want teams to close the gap put decent players on the auction, not the shit you keep putting on there that helps nobody its just another shit show which just discourages good managers to carry on playing if every turn you just impede clubs who manage to do well.
