First Team Sub
December 27, 2015
Steve, I've reflected and first, thanks for looking into spicing up the game and adding something when there was an issue. We could have kept going and it would have been OK, but I think this is the right thing to do.
My concern was that it was too radical, and I don't think it is. I was thinking about a potential 48 player I'm working on, long project, was this suddenly a waste of time? According to the last representative team I have the 2nd highest rated player in SSL, is he worthless? The answer's no.
If we get suddenly flooded with players 55-60 the answer would be yes, and good 45 rated players were suddenly a bit crap, yes. But if SOME players are coming in with the potential to sqeak into the 50+ range, it's a transition rather than a revolution.
That's just my thoughts. Anyway, my Youth Coach is due to bring one through any week now so I will be interested to see what happens.

Yes, but that could end up being expensive and fruitless. If you keep buying players at value for say 10 mill and Tran2 for £5mill next turn you'll lose your cash fast!
You won't lose much selling may even make a profit off the auction on some players

If there's a new interest in auction players they won't go for minimum, they'll go for nearer value. Selling them at 50% after paying say 90% means you'll have lost 40% of the player value each time.
Perhaps time will tell if that actually happens.

Fair enough I take the Tran 2 back because they won't have too, you can always sell someone decent you buy in my experience , The better teams normally have most money and will now start buying 38 rated players ish just in hope is my point, squad size won't stop this, Good potential keep, bad sell on

Thanks that's a really insightful post. I think you get what I am trying to do perfectly.
Obviously it's a change but the feedback so far is I think very positive

Don't get the squad size point Steve a rich club will just keep a squad of 20, buy a player if he doesn't have the good potential sell him the next turn or Tran 2 him!
Most of the rich clubs are struggling to keep their squad to 21 players. They do it by loaning players out so they don't count in the squad total.
I already covered this concern in the oipening post

I don't think it is a struggle really, you keep 20 get rid of the 21st worst player,

If it really gets bad Steve, I imagine you could limit every club to two loan deals at any one time?
Yes great idea - let’s make developing youth players even more difficult by restricting the amount of players a club can loan out

Division 3 teams can really benefit by taking in 3 players when cash is low and auction prices are high.
Even though it's a temporary solutuon it gets you through a period while your revenues are low during Stadium construction.

i think the 21 rule should be implemented strictly so if on any given turn you have more 21 players 1 be sold for you not leave it for a few turns before one or two are sold.

I reckon, going by current transfers for GK, D, M, A :
51 rated 15y = 48,050,000 to 75 rated 15y = 85,250,000. Up 1,500,000 per one rating increment for 15y
51 rated 26y = 31,000,000 to 75 rated 26y = 55,000,000. Up 1,000,000 per one rating increment for 26y
51 rated 33y = 20,150,000 to 75 rated 33y = 35,750,000. Up 650,000 per one rating increment for 33y

Add 10% for DM or MA
Add 20% for DMA or the highest amount a standard player can be sold for.
Just illustration, and my opinion only, and the way it has been calculated for players up to current 50 max rating.
