Same as some of the above. Was telling my son about Soccer Supremos and googled PBM. Have a feeling I may have tried Summit briefly back in the day (tried them all at some point) but ended up playing Soccer Supremos for a few year (and Apex for a while too though it was awful).
Funny you mention Match. I briefly ran a wrestling PBM called Rumble Wrestling. Match charged me about £20 to run my advert, but got the name wrong, calling it Rubulke Wrestling. They ran it again correctly a week later. Sadly, the internet had launched and the game only ran for a few months with a small number of customers

I know Dave Bird who now runs Whitestone and Barry GB in League 1 told me he started playing on Week 1 because of a flyer I handed him outside Nottingham Forests ground.
I called the first league back in what, 1993? League 4 because I thought it looked a bit amateur to start with League 1 and would make it look like there were more leagues than there were so it would be taken more seriously. Amazingly League 4 filled up quite quickly so more Leagues were started as it was a bit of a boom time in the 90's for PBM.
New players these days tend to be looking to replay Soccer Supremos which they enjoyed back in the day, as did I and I would love to welcome more of them 🙂

I recall you saying leagues 1-3 were originally test leagues but this is very clever marketing!
Do you recall the date it kicked off? I thought next year was the 25 year anniversary but maybe we’ve missed it already

Yes you can get post only that’s the way I do it. League 3 is the newer league and the league I prefer but they are all good value whichever league you start in

I'm pretty sure Pace was the original PBM I joined back in 1985 with a friend and one of my cousin's (and also introduced Nathan, from Cogan FC, to it). Played for about 3 or 4 seasons, don't remember why we all drifted away as we were all pretty succesful.
Never realised that then went on to become Soccer Supremos.
I joined Summit recently, a few years after Nathan mentioned it. I'm hooked already.
