All anyone wants is a fun game that runs with a degree of regularity.
We all have challenges and struggles in life. Some more than others.
It's as simple as this Richard. If the game runs smoothly you have high morale and a happy camp.
If it doesn't, morale drops and patience runs thin.
It's only Thursday. A lot can change between now and Friday evening.
Unless I'm told otherwise, I expect to see League 3 out this week.
A deadline of today at 12.00 in my eyes should be respected.
I'm not a fan of this "72 hour" on time thing. It's not reasonable.
Everyone knows Summit is a hobby and it doesn't pay the bills.
Approx 44 managed teams x £3.25 has to count for something though.
As I said - It's only Thursday. Let's wait and see.

As Darren says, morale is low and patience thin and the last thing we need to do is fight amongst ourselves. Richard is, I think, trying to be humourous and point out what appears to mixed messages to Steve (albeit removed from context). However, Richard is not responsible for the delays.
You know, we've been here before with delays and breaks. We can try further interventions but in reality, Steve is Steve. So if we are upset because we want a game run in a timely manner, with clear/concise work schedules and tight deadlines, we are going to remain upset.
In the end it doesn't really matter whether we want it or not, just about how we can live with it. In honesty, it's just a game based on a few computed figures, it's not going to put an end to war, greed or famine: It doesn't really matter at all. All that is of importance is our relationships with our fellow managers. And to that end, I wish you ALL a really good evening (with a bottle of something you like), it's not been an easy day for any of us.

I'm not really sure what the issue is here and I've read all the posts.
Some postal managers were saying they didn't like turns being sent on a Friday as they have no or sketchy deliveries on a Saturday. So I changed the deadlines from Sat / Weds to Mon / Thurs. That means that the Monday deadline will go out Weds / Thurs and the Thursday deadline will go out over the weekend (there ARE collections at the Main Office in town) or the Monday.
The reason only one turn has gone this week is that there was no deadline on Thurs May 5th due to me only getting my repaired laptop back at the end of April otherwise that would have gone at the start of the week. A delay like that impacts 2 weeks ahead. No Leagues are delayed, the League 3 deadline was only today.
So at the end of the day I have only 4 days to send out Leagues, Mon - Thurs so the aim is to achieve maximum separation by sending them Monday and Thursday. Still 2 Leagues a week just slightly different days and that was only in response to feedback from here on the forum.
Let me know if I'm misunderstanding something.

Steve, thank you for the question. I cannot speak for other managers who will no doubt give you the benefit of their opinion as and when they wish. I will attempt to write a mindful response tomorrow.

But there was just the one turn this week. Has something delayed League 3? I'm not really fussed about L1 or L2 because I'm not in it.
Is L3 due out tomorrow (being the 2nd league processed this week).
Deadline was today so I assumed it was on course for tomorrow but seeing L2 was only done today now I'm not so sure ?

I did explain above Darren. I got my laptop back 28 April. It was too late to process a League for the 5th May deadline slot. So that had to be left blank. So League 2 Week 21 went into the next slot, 9th May and League 3 Week 27 goes into the next available slot, today 12th May.
Normally the League due on 5th May would have been sent on Monday this week so there would have been the usual two Leagues sent out. But that deadline was blank due to the laptop issue.
I often get ridiculed on here when I say delays are rare but people don't seem to get that if there is an issue it affects all three Leagues. Not only that but it affects Leagues for 2 or 3 weeks and although I personally count that as a single delay I can understand why managers see that as a multiple delay issue and start complaining.

I think lg3 is due out Monday as I read it, although I just find this all confusing

I don’t want to speak for others here but I think the issue is the fact after such a long delay and you playing catch up, there only seems to be one league going out this week for no apparent reason.
You acknowledge that turns should be going out on Monday’s and Thursday’s so why didn’t the previous turns have a deadline of Saturday and Tuesday to allow two leagues to go out this week after such a delay? It’s an unnecessary delay after what went on prior.
If I’m over simplifying it I’m sorry, but after playing catch up surely deadlines should of been set to allow two leagues to be sent out every week going forward?

I think putting a deadline of 12th of May caused the problem. In my eyes a turn should go out a weekday after a deadline. Steve gives himself up to 72 hours (certainly 48hrs). To be fair, he probably just misjudged the deadline. If the deadline was set with the allowance of 72 hours in mind then that's a bit frustrating in my eyes. Roll on the weekend. When the turn arrives next week I'll see what level of enthusiasm I can muster up.
Week 24 was received on 31st of March.
Week 25 received on 13th of April. Week 36 received on 3rd of May. One turn in the calender month of April! I do appreciate there were reasons but I think you can see where I was coming from.
Note to self. Must manage expectations better.

Turn round time has always been the biggest issue in this 'game'. It's a lot better than the dark days of 7 or 8 years ago but not ideal really.
The thing is it's pretty much a hobby for Steve, certainly not a business and that's what we all need to remember.
Yes, I know we're paying for it but surely we've all got more important things to worry and moan about?
I used to be one of the biggest complainers when Steve seemed to be giving more time to his non league forums but just cba now.
I think the traffic lights should be done away with and it'll be a surprise when it turns up in your letter box or inbox.
